What is Madhya Pradesh Livestock Insurance Scheme (Pashudhan Bima Yojana):-
Through this beneficial scheme of Madhya Pradesh state, in case of death of animals, their owners will be compensated for the loss incurred by the government and the insurance company. In this scheme, the beneficiary can get insurance for every five animals. Around 10 animals in the category of sheep, goat, cow, buffalo etc. will be counted as one unit and hence animal owners can get insurance for 50 animals at a time. Under this scheme, subsidy will be provided to different categories of people and people from APL, BPL, SC, ST categories can also apply. In the Livestock Insurance Scheme, insurance coverage will be provided at the rate of 3% for a maximum of 1 year and 7.5% for 3 years. Under the scheme, beneficiaries can get government insurance for their cattle for 1 to 3 years and can avail its benefits.
Subsidy rate on insurance premium in Madhya Pradesh Livestock Insurance Scheme:-

Category above poverty line:- APL card holders of Madhya Pradesh will get 50% subsidy on insurance premium for animal owners under the scheme.
Below Poverty Line Category: - Below Poverty Line category i.e. BPL card holders will get 70% subsidy on the insurance premium for animal owners under Madhya Pradesh Animal Husbandry Insurance Scheme.
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category: The government has made a provision to provide 70% subsidy on the insurance premium of this scheme to the cattle owners for all the SC-ST beneficiaries.
Eligibility to apply for Madhya Pradesh Livestock Insurance Scheme (Pashudhan Bima Yojana):-
The applicant should be a native of Madhya Pradesh state.
Under this scheme, those who are poor and have livestock can apply for the scheme.
APL, BPL and SC, ST people can apply under the scheme and get its benefits.
It will be mandatory for the cattle owner to inform the insurance company about the death of the cattle within 24 hours.
In case of death of the animal, the concerned doctor will examine it and proceed further.
An investigation report into the death of the animal will be prepared and it will be told as to what ultimately led to the death of the animal.
It will be mandatory for those whose animals have died to submit a claim to the insurance company within a time period of 1 month.
Within 15 days of submitting the claim, the livestock insurance company will settle it and the beneficiaries will be compensated for the loss.

APL card holders:- You will need APL card while applying for the scheme.
BPL Card Holder:- You will also need BPL card at the time of applying for the scheme.
Residence Certificate:- This scheme is only for Madhya Pradesh state, so you will need residence certificate to avail the benefits of the scheme.
Income Certificate:- To apply for Madhya Pradesh Livestock Insurance Scheme, you will have to get an income certificate made.
