Chhattisgarh Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme has been announced by the new Chief Minister, Honorable Bhupesh Baghel. To remove the debt burden from the farmers of Chhattisgarh, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister has announced the Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme. Bhupesh Baghel ji held his first cabinet meeting after taking oath as the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, after which he announced the Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme during the press conference.
Under the Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme, the government will waive short-term agricultural (crop) loans of 65 lakh farmers.
Chhattisgarh government has decided that on November 30, 2018, the loan of any farmer who has taken loan from Chhattisgarh Cooperative Bank and Gramin Bank will be waived off.
There are about 16 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh, who have a debt of Rs 6100 crore. The government will waive off this entire loan.
It is hoped that the government can waive off loans of up to Rs 2 lakh for farmers. But no official announcement has been made on this yet.
Chhattisgarh Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme Second Phase :-
In the second phase of the scheme, loans taken by farmers from commercial banks will be waived off, but first a complete investigation will be done, and a decision will be taken only after seeing the data by higher officials. This decision has been taken in the second phase of the farmer loan waiver scheme. Now the loans taken by farmers from commercial banks will also be waived off.
In the second phase of the scheme, Chhattisgarh government has passed a budget of Rs 2100 crore.
For Phase 2 of the Farm Loan Waiver Scheme for Farmers, the State Government has issued notice to commercial banks for disbursement of farm loan to farmers.
Chhattisgarh government has given Rs 451 crore to regional rural banks to waive off agricultural loans of farmers.
Chhattisgarh Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme Eligibility :-
The benefit of this scheme implemented in Chhattisgarh will be available only to the farmers living there, people from other states cannot apply for it. Any farmer who applies for Chhattisgarh Crop Loan Redemption Scheme, it is mandatory for him to show the certificate of being a native of that place.
Under the scheme, tax exemption will be available only to those who have taken loan for the crop. If farmers have taken loan for other crop related works, then they cannot avail the benefit of this scheme.
Chhattisgarh Crop Loan Waiver Scheme is only for those who depend on agriculture. Other people will not get its benefit. Farmers will also have to show their Kisan Card.
