Eligibility criteria for the scheme
Native of Jharkhand – The benefit of this scheme will be given only to those who have been living in Jharkhand state for the last 10 years. Apart from this, they should have a native certificate of Jharkhand.
Poor category – The benefit of the scheme will be given to those families who fall below the poverty line, whose annual income is Rs 72000 or less. It is mandatory for them to have a poverty line card.
Only for girls – This scheme has been designed keeping girls only in mind. Financial assistance will be provided only for the marriage of girls.
Above 18 years – Girls who are getting pregnant after 18 years of age are eligible for this scheme. If a girl is married below the age of 18 years, she will not get the benefit of this scheme and legal action will be taken against that family. The age of the boy should also be 21 years or more.
Do not have a government job – Only those whose family members do not work in any big or small government job will be eligible for the scheme.
First marriage – Only those girls are eligible under the scheme, whose first marriage will take place. In case of remarriage, those girls will be considered ineligible for this scheme and they will not get its benefits.
Orphan Girls – Those girls who are destitute and have no guardian or parents are eligible for the scheme. For this those girls will have to apply themselves. There will be no restriction on poverty line card and income limit for these girls.

Required documents –
At the time of applying for the scheme, some important documents will be required, which you will have to submit along with the form. The applicant will have to carry his/her income certificate, native certificate, poverty line card, Aadhar card. Apart from this, 2 recent passport size photographs, photocopy of bank passbook. Keep all these documents ready with you before applying. Apart from this, if some documents are required then the department will inform you about it while submitting the form.

Application Form and Process:-
The applicant must apply for the scheme at least one month before the date of marriage. If people apply after this, their form will be cancelled.

After downloading the form, take its print out. Then fill all the necessary information of the applicant correctly.
After filling all the information, submit it to the Social Welfare Department of your district along with all the necessary documents along with the form. The amount of financial assistance will come to the given bank account of the beneficiary through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Jharkhand government is organizing camps at various places in the state to promote the scheme made for social welfare. In October 2018, the government had ordered the District Social Welfare Department to organize camps to disseminate information about Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana and Mukhyamantri Lakshmi Ladli Yojana to the general public. The department gave information about the welfare schemes to everyone, and also appealed to the people to take full advantage of these schemes and also inform other people about it. The department collected the forms of the beneficiaries in the camp and gave them all the information.
