• Under the Five Star Village Scheme 2022, every district of Uttarakhand will be benefited from the scheme of the India Post Department.
• Uttarakhand Five Star Village Scheme 2022 has been started by the Minister of State for Education, Communication, Electronic IT, Uttarakhand with the help of the Indian Postal Department.
• It will act as a one-stop shop. It will mainly help in spreading public awareness in Sundarvarti villages.
• The name of this scheme is the Five Star Village Scheme so five types of benefits will be given through this scheme.
• By using this scheme people from rural areas can apply for their savings account ranking deposit account NSC KVP certificate.
• Earlier, people of rural areas could not get the benefit of the post office, but now the Five Star Village scheme has been started in Uttarakhand.
• Five Star Village Scheme 2022 has been started by Minister of State Sanjay Dhotre on 1st December 2020.

Five Star Village Postal Scheme is recently started by the Department of Posts of Uttarakhand state. the government included 5 different schemes under this one scheme. They selected 50 villages from 7 different districts that will receive the benefits of these 5 schemes. These 5 schemes are Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Postal Life Insurance (PLI), India Post Payment Bank (IPPB), Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and Public Provident Fund (PPF). Five Star Village Postal Scheme 2021 scheme has been launched by The Department of Posts. The aim of this scheme is universal coverage of all the flagship postal schemes in the remote and village areas of our country. Under this scheme, all the postal services and products will be made available and will be given publicity at the village level. The branch offices of the post offices will serve as a one-stop shop. Three components of this scheme are:

The Union Minister Mr. Sanjay Dhotre, has distributed cheques of the unclaimed amounts to those account holders who are eligible to mark the beginning of the Five Star Village Postal. Pass-books were distributed to beneficiaries of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and ATMS and pass-books were distributed among the beneficiaries of the Senior Citizens Welfare Fund Scheme. The Union minister also interacted with the senior citizens to understand their expectations of Postal services.

The Government of Uttarakhand appreciated the work done by the people working in post offices during the COVID-19 lockdown. The government selected fifty villages from 7 districts of Uttarakhand. These 7 districts include 4 from the Khumon region and 3 from the Gharwal region. Chamoli, Almora, Pauri, Nainital, Tehri, and Pithoragarh were among the chosen districts. The government selected 7 villages from each of these 7 districts where they will launch this Scheme. Dehradun nominated 8 villages for this scheme. 

For example, if any village receives universal coverage of any 4 schemes under the Five Star Village Postal then, they will be offered 4-star status. Similarly, if any village receives coverage of 2 schemes then, that village will be given 2-star status. This scheme is also being launched in Maharashtra state and on the basis of their reaction, it will be released nationwide.  The Maharashtra Government has included Parbhani and Hingoli in Aurangabad Region; Akola and Washim in Nagpur Region; Kolhapur and Sangli in Goa Region; Solapur and Pandharpur in Pune Region; and Malegaon and Palghar in Navi Mumbai Region. 

The scheme will be implemented by the teams of 5 Gram Sevak which will be assigned to a village for marketing the products and insurance and savings of schemes. this team will be headed by the Branch Post Master of each concerned Branch Office. All the teams will be monitored by the Divisional Head, Assistant Superintendents Posts, and Inspector Posts.
