WB Yuvashree Arpan Yojana was launched by the Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee on 6 March 2019 so that entrepreneurship among youths can be promoted. Through this scheme financial incentives are provided to the entrepreneurs by the State Government in order to set up their enterprises. This financial assistance will be Rs 1 lakh which will be provided to 50000 youths. This funding will be provided by the micro, small and medium enterprises department. Through WB Yuvashree Arpan Yojana entrepreneurship will be promoted which will help in creating jobs. The creation of jobs will automatically promote the economic growth of the state.
This Yojana will begin on 1st April 2019. A dedicated portal will be launched for this scheme so that all the beneficiaries can take the benefits of this scheme. The benefit amount will be directly transferred into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through the direct benefit transfer method. Through this scheme, the unemployment rate will also be reduced. Other than that all the eligible candidates will also get training on skill development based on their business ideas. The government of West Bengal has allocated a budget of Rs 500 Crore for the implementation of WB Yuvashree Arpan Yojana. The department of micro, small and medium enterprises will be the nodal agency for the implementation of this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria Of WB Yuvashree Arpan Yojana
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal
- The applicant should not have been punished for any criminal offense
- Those youths who are interested in opening a new business and have new ideas in order to create self-employment for themselves and others can apply for this scheme
- Youths having to possess a technical degree from recognized institutes can also apply under this scheme
- ITI pass-outs or diploma holders can also apply under this scheme
- Applicant should not be the availing benefit of any kind of similar scheme from state or Central Government
