The Government of Gujarat has launched Suryashakti Kisan Yojana for the betterment of farmers. Through this scheme, farmers will be able to generate electricity using solar panels on their own farms. And will be able to sell the remaining generated electricity to the government through the grid. Through this scheme, the income of farmers will be doubled. For the successful implementation of this scheme, the Central Government and the State Government will provide 60% subsidy to the farmers for the installation of solar panels, and 35% of the cost of the scheme will be provided to the farmers through loans. For the successful implementation of this scheme 12 hours of power supply during the day will be ensured.

The interest rate of 4.5% to 6% of the 35% of the cost of the scheme will be paid to the farmer through the loan, and the remaining 5% will be borne by the farmer. About 12,400 farmers in 33 districts of Gujarat will benefit from this scheme. The total duration of this scheme will be divided into 25 years seven years and 18 years. Suryashakti Kisan Yojana is being managed by the Government of Gujarat. The main objective of this scheme is to provide electricity to the farmers for irrigation.
