On 12th August the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh launched YSR Cheyutha Scheme through video conferencing from the chief minister’s camp office that is situated in Tadepalli in Amaravati. Through this scheme, financial assistance will be provided to women. The budget of this scheme is 17000 crore and this year the government earmarked Rs 4,687 crore. The amount would be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiary of the scheme. It is to be noted that all those women who become eligible after attaining 45 years as of August 12th of every year will receive benefits from this scheme. All those women who cross the upper age limit of 60 years will cease to receive the benefit.
As you all may be aware that the government of Andhra Pradesh runs the program of providing cash benefits to the leftover beneficiaries in June and December every year. The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh started this cash deposit program this year from this camp office in Tadepalli on 28th December 2021. Cash has been deposited into the accounts of eligible beneficiaries who have not received the benefit amount due to various reasons. The government has deposited an amount of 703 crores into the account of 9.30 lakh beneficiaries.
YSR Cheyutha scheme was launched in order to provide financial assistance to the women belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and minority communities. This scheme has been launched in order to improve the livelihood of women so that they can become financially independent. Every year through this scheme Rs 18750 is provided to all the beneficiaries. Now the government is going to provide the benefit of this scheme for the second year in a row. On 22 June 2021 the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy deposited the amount of Rs 4339.39 crores into the bank account of 23,14,342 beneficiaries from his camp office.
Objectives Of the YSR Cheyutha Scheme
The objectives of the scheme are as follow in the following list:-

Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria while applying for the scheme:-
- The applicant must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh state
- An applicant must be a woman
- The applicant must belong to minority communities
- The applicant must be above the age of 45 years
- An applicant must be below the age of 60 years
Other than that the government has also signed an agreement with big companies like Amul, Reliance, P&G, ITC, etc in order to support the women of the state. Around 78000 beneficiaries will be able to set up their grocery shop because of this agreement. The women will be able to get Rs 10000 extra income through these grocery shops. Under the YSR Cheyutha Scheme, the Government of Andhra Pradesh is going to spend 19000 crores in 4 years. Till now through the first and second installments of this scheme, the government has spent Rs 8943 crores. Andhra Pradesh Government has also provided buffaloes, cows, and goats to 1,90,517 people.
As you all know that the government of Andhra Pradesh is going to start YSR Cheyutha Scheme on 26 November 2020. Under this scheme, all the beneficiaries will give support to sell their produce to Amul. For this purpose, the Government of Andhra Pradesh is going to distribute cattle to the beneficiaries of the YSR Cheyutha Scheme. Cattle will include cows, buffaloes, goats, and sheep.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has released the second installment of the YSR Cheyutha scheme. The Chief Minister has also pointed out that 8 lakh widows and single women who are in the age group 45 to 60 years are receiving a pension at a rate of Rs 27000 per year and in addition to this they would receive Rs 18750 per year which will make the total amount Rs 45750 per year. The Chief Minister has also said that the government has signed a memorandum of understanding with some companies like Amul, Reliance, Hindustan Unilever Limited, etc in order to strengthen the rural economy and to make the beneficiary of the Cheyutha scheme the stakeholders in their businesses. Through this scheme, the Government of Andhra Pradesh wants to promote entrepreneurship among women.

On 12th August 2020, the state government of Andhra Pradesh state is going to start implementing the YSR Cheyutha Scheme. For this purpose, on Monday 3rd August 2020 the government signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with three companies named Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), ITC, and Procter and Gamble (P&G). These companies will provide marketing opportunities and technical support to more than 25 lakh women in the state. The government is going to spend Rs 4,500 crore on this scheme.
