Continuous efforts have been made by the government to ensure that health services reach every needy person in every corner of our country. Taking this forward, the Madhya Pradesh government has also decided to start a scheme for government employees, named 'Chief Minister Employees Health Insurance Scheme'. Under this scheme, free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh will be provided to regular and retired employees and officers. Features of Chief Minister Employees Health Insurance Scheme:-

  • Objective of the scheme:-  Madhya Pradesh government wants to give the right to health under this scheme to every employee working in the state, hence they have started this scheme.
  • Assistance to employees:-  Madhya Pradesh government says that other people of the state who are poor are already getting benefits under Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Madhya Pradesh State Government Health Insurance Scheme. But many needy employees and officers have been deprived of this. Under this scheme only those employees and officers are to be provided assistance.
  • Beneficiaries in the scheme:-  A total of 12 lakh 50 thousand employees, their family members and officers of the state will be covered in this scheme.
  • Facility to be provided:-  Under this scheme, free treatment or free medicines up to Rs 10,000 will be provided every year in the form of OPD to the beneficiary employees and officers of the state.
  • For general treatment:-  Under this scheme, each beneficiary family will be able to get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh annually for the treatment of general illness.
  • For serious illness:-  If anyone in each beneficiary family suffers from serious illness, then under this scheme they will be able to get free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh annually.
  • For treatment of more than Rs 10 lakh: -  If a situation arises that the beneficiary or any member of his family suffers from a very serious illness, for which he has to spend more than Rs 10 lakh, then the state will pay Rs. Permission to provide assistance will be given exclusively by the level medical board.

Eligibility Criteria in Chief Minister Employees Health Insurance Scheme:-

  • Citizens of Madhya Pradesh:- It has been decided to give the benefits of this scheme only to the employees and officers of Madhya Pradesh.
  • Eligibility of employees:-  12 lakh 50 thousand beneficiaries joining this scheme will be of following category and post –

  1. Regular Government Employees,
  2. All contractual employees,
  3. teacher cadres,
  4. retired employee,
  5. civil servant,
  6. Full-time employees who receive salaries from the contingency fund,
  7. Employees working in autonomous institutions of the state etc.

  • Other Eligibility:-  This scheme can be optional for such employees who are working in Corporation or Board and such officers who are working in All India Service.

Documents required in Chief Minister Employees Health Insurance Scheme:-

To avail the benefits of this health insurance scheme, beneficiaries may require some of the following documents which they should keep with them. However, information about this has not been given yet by the government.

  • Residential Certificate:-  Beneficiaries should carry their residential certificate with them to get free treatment, which should show that they are residents of Madhya Pradesh.
  • Employee ID Card:-  Beneficiaries should also carry their ID card with them, which will indicate which post and category they belong to.
  • Identity Card:-  To avail the benefits of any scheme, it is necessary that the beneficiary should display his identity, hence in this scheme also he should carry one of the identity cards like Voter ID Card, Aadhar Card or PAN Card with him.
