What is the purpose of rural storage scheme? :-
The main objective of the Rural Storage Scheme is to build storage houses for all the farmers. Subsidy rates under Rural Storage Scheme (Subsidy amount) :-
Under this scheme, one-third of the capital spent on the project will be given as subsidy to SC and ST entrepreneurs and groups belonging to their communities or in the North-Eastern states and hilly areas. Let us tell you here that the maximum limit of subsidy has been fixed at Rs 3 crore.
Apart from this, let us tell you that subsidy up to 25% will be provided on the project capital when a farmer gets the project constructed or if the farmer has done graduation or that farmer is associated with any government organization. Let us tell you that in such a situation the maximum amount given will be Rs 2.25 crore.
Also, let us tell you that other categories like any individual, corporation or company will be given a subsidy of 15% on the cost of project capital. Please note that in such a situation the maximum amount that will be provided is Rs 1.35 crore.
Apart from this, let us tell you that if the renovation of the store house is done with the help of NDC, then 25% subsidy of the cost will be given.

Capital cost of the project under Rural Storage Scheme :-
For storage with capacity of 1000 tonnes - This will be the appraised project cost given by the bank or its actual cost or Rs 3500 per tonne, whichever is lower.
For storage house with capacity of 1000 tonnes - Please mention here that under this, the cost of the project appraisal given through the bank or its actual cost or Rs 150/ton whichever is the lowest.

Main facts of Rural Storage Scheme :-
It is necessary to have some facilities inside the warehouse like paved road, drainage system, complete security arrangements, proper arrangement for bringing, carrying and unloading of goods etc.
All windows and skylights should be bird proof, that is, no birds should come in through them.
It is mandatory for all windows and doors to be air tight.
The warehouse should be completely safe from all types of germs.
Construction of storage is required to be done only as per the guidelines given by CPWD or CPWD-KK.
The warehouse can be constructed at any place of your choice.
It is also very important for the applicant to have a license for the warehouse.
If the warehouse is more than 1000 tonnes then it will have to obtain recognition from CWC.
The height of storage must be at least 4-5 meters.
Apart from this, under this scheme it is necessary to build the warehouse as per engineering standards.
Under the Warehouse Scheme, it is mandatory for the candidate to construct scientific storage.
Also, let us tell you that to avail the benefit of this scheme, the candidate must have his own land.
Apart from this, the decision of storage capacity also largely depends on the application under this scheme.
The applicant's warehouse must be completely outside the municipal corporation limits.
