The government has been bringing some scheme or the other to generate job opportunities for students and youth in the country. Which helps the citizens of the country to get employment. Recently, in order to generate better placement and employment, a scheme is being started by the Central Government for the youth who have received higher education, under which new graduate students will be provided education opportunities in specific industries. Objective of Shreyas Scheme:-
- The main objective of Shreyas Yojana is to prepare the educated unemployed for employment. Under the scheme, educated students will be trained for employment so that they can get employment as per their qualification.
- To provide skills to the students in a right manner based on their demand. And establishing the ‘learn and earn’ system in higher education is also an important goal of this scheme.
Features and benefits of Shreyas Yojana:-
- Development and employment of students :-
- If students do not get a job after finishing college, then academic education has no value. But with this scheme, such students will be given a chance by the Central Government to get employment.
- Skill Development :-
- With the implementation of this scheme, students will be able to work and learn in industrial areas. The training sessions along with the internship will sharpen their skills. In this way this scheme will develop the skills of the students.
- Opportunity to earn stipend:-
- Under this scheme, internship projects will be provided to the applicants, during which students can learn the tricks of the trade and can also earn some money using it. Which will increase their confidence.
- To provide quality human resources:-
- The industrial sector cannot run without the help of qualified and trained human resources. Therefore, good quality human resources will be provided in this scheme.
- Number of registered institutions:-
- Till now 40 educational institutions have enrolled themselves under this scheme.
- Number of degree internship programs :-
- It has been announced by the officials of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the Ministry of Skill Development and Employment that 7 internship projects have been developed under the scheme.
- Areas selected for skill development: –
- The central government has published a list which contains the names of 6 areas. These sectors are retail, IT, logistics, BFSI, food processing and tourism development etc. Skill development programs will be made for interested candidates in these areas.
3 tracks in implementing Shreyas scheme:-
- The first track is Add on Apprenticeship, under which students who are currently completing a degree will be called to choose a job of their choice from a shortlist prepared by the Sector Skill Council of the Ministry of Skill Development and Employment and will be placed accordingly. Will be trained.
- The second track is embedded apprenticeship, in which existing programs will be merged into BA, BSc or BCom courses. Besides, not only educational input and professional input will be included in it but also education will be provided to those students for 6 to 10 months depending on the skill requirement.
- In the last track, the National Career Service Portal of the Ministry of Labor and Employment will be linked with higher education institutions.
Eligibility and required documents for Shreyas Scheme:-
- Resident of the country :-
- Students must be legal citizens of India. To prove this, they should have their respective voter and Aadhaar cards.
- A student must be :-
- The applicant for this scheme can only be a student, whether he is studying in any government or private college of the country. Can get benefits under this program.
- Only for non-technical stream students:-
- This scheme has been implemented for the development of those students who are studying in non-technical fields. Like only students who have graduated in BA, B.Sc and B.Com can register for this scheme.
- Year of passing out :-
- Only those students who will pass out from college from April – May 2019 can enroll for this scheme. Therefore, applicants will have to attach a copy of their college passing certificate with the form while registering.
- Adequate educational degree :-
- The benefit of this scheme can be availed only by those students who have the required educational and other skills, which matches the trainee profile. And the decision of the training provider in this regard will be considered final.
Application form and application process for Shreyas Yojana:-
- All interested applicants will have to first log in to the official portal of the scheme to get the necessary information about education and stipend school, which will be released soon.
- Before students can apply, it will be the responsibility of the educational institution to register themselves under this program.
- For this, institutions have to log in to its official portal, and highlight the courses and training programs in which they are interested.
- Then students will be able to match their profile as per the vacancies, and apply by filling the registration form.
- When the registration process is completed, you can confirm your registration by getting its receipt.
Operation of Shreyas Scheme:-
- Sector Skill Council i.e. SSC has identified more than 100 sectors where students will be able to get educational opportunities and with the help of their placement cells, they will identify the industries where training will be imparted along with the respective colleges.
- Higher educational institutions can log in to the Shreyas portal and express their interest in the skill areas, prospective students can also opt for it.
- The demand made by them will be examined and done by the concerned Sector Skill Council. After this, they will verify the posts available on the portal. Only on the basis of this verification, the names of the students will be uploaded on the Shreyas portal by the higher education institute.
- After this NAPS will generate the contract between the industry and the student. And then the monthly stipend will be paid by the industry, and out of this, 25% i.e. approximately a maximum of Rs 1,500 per month will be paid by the NAPS portal.
- The progress will then be monitored by SSC and an examination will be conducted at the end of the training period. Those students who succeed will be awarded a certificate. These certificates will be valid all over India for getting employment.
