Shushk Bagwani Yojana:- Agroforestry is being encouraged to increase the income of farmers in the country. For which the government keeps launching new schemes every day. Similarly, a welfare scheme for farmers has been started by the Bihar government. Whose name is dry gardening scheme. Through this scheme, subsidy will be provided to farmers for planting trees on ridges through micro irrigation system. For which farmers will have to apply online to avail the benefits. Shushk Bagwani Scheme 2023:-
Dry Horticulture Scheme has been started by the Bihar government to make the farmers of the state self-reliant and increase their income. Through this scheme, up to 50% subsidy will be given by the government to the farmers of the state to do dry farming. On fruit plants like Amla, Plum, Jamun, Jackfruit, Bael, Pomegranate, Lemon and Sweet Lemon, 50% subsidy of the unit rate i.e. Rs 30,000 will be given at the cost of Rs 60,000. This grant amount will be sent directly to the bank account of the beneficiary through DPT. Using this, applicants will be able to avail huge benefits by planting saplings on ridges on their small land. To avail the benefits of this scheme, it will be necessary for the beneficiary farmer to get micro irrigation done. To avail the benefits of this scheme, the beneficiary will have to apply online.
Objective of Shushk Bagwani Yojana:-
The main objective of starting the dry horticulture scheme by the Bihar government is to increase the income of the farmers of the state and to encourage the production of horticulture crops. Through this scheme, the government will give 50% subsidy to the farmers of the state for the cultivation of lemon, planting of Amla, Jamun, Jackfruit etc. trees. The maximum grant amount will be Rs 30,000 per hectare. This important step of the government will boost the production of horticulture crops in the state which will increase the income of farmers. Farmers can earn good income by planting trees designated under this scheme in their fields and can also cooperate in the tree plantation campaign by the Bihar government.
Assistance to farmers under dry horticulture scheme:-
Farmers of Bihar will be given 50% subsidy of the total cost for fruit crops under the horticulture scheme by the government. Let us tell you that for gardening of these fruits, farmers will get 50% grant of maximum cost of Rs 60,000 i.e. a benefit of Rs 30,000. The amount of benefit received from this scheme will be given to the farmers by Bihar Government in a total of 3 years. Of these, farmers will be given an amount of Rs 18,000 in the first year, Rs 6,000 in the second year and Rs 6,000 in the third year. Thus, overall the beneficiary farmer will get a grant amount of Rs 30,000. For dry horticulture scheme, grant can be obtained from 0.1 hectare to maximum 4 hectare land.
Benefits and features of Shushk Bagwani Yojana:-
Dry Horticulture Scheme has been started to increase the income of farmers of Bihar state.
Through this scheme, only those farmers of the state who have maximum 4 hectare and minimum 1 hectare land for fruit plants can get benefits under the dry horticulture scheme.
Under this scheme, 50% of the total cost of Rs 60,000 i.e. Rs 30,000 will be given by the government for fruit crops.
The grant amount will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiary farmers by the state government through DBT.
This grant amount will be given in 3 installments in 3 years.
To operate this scheme, 2400 farmers district wise will also be given training by the Center of Excellence.
Planting material will be made available to the farmers from the Center of Excellence for Fruits, Desari, Vaishali.
This scheme will be operated in all 38 districts of the state.
After deducting the amount of plants provided from the first year's grant amount, the remaining amount will be given to the farmers. The remaining amount will be given on the basis of availability of plants to be planted in the next 2 years.
Beneficiary farmers can also avail benefits by planting trees on the ridges of their fields. For which it will be mandatory to establish drip irrigation.
Beneficiaries of PM Irrigation Scheme can apply to get benefits under this scheme.

Eligibility for Bihar Dry Horticulture Scheme:-
To avail the benefits of Bihar Dry Horticulture Scheme, the applicant must be a native of Bihar.
It is mandatory for the applicant to be a farmer.
The applicant farmer should have minimum 1 hectare land.
Installation of drip irrigation equipment should be mandatory in the farmer's field.
It is necessary to have irrigation in the applicant's fields.
To avail the benefits of this scheme, the applicant's bank account should be linked to Aadhaar.
