Swanirbhar Nari Atmanirbhar Scheme in Assam: Online Application & Benefits

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in a bid to empower economically deprived women in the state launched a “Swa-Nirbhar Naari: Atmanirbhar Asom”. The scheme aims to create more than 3.72 lakh sustainable individuals and over 800 communities.

The Swanirbhar Nari – Atmanirbhar Assam Scheme would be implemented under MGNREGA with the convergence of schemes of various state departments and missions. It includes Assam State Rural Livelihood Mission, Agriculture & Horticulture, Fishery, Environment & Forest, Handloom and Textiles, Sericulture, Veterinary, and Animal Husbandry, etc.

CM announced Swanirbhar Nari Scheme and said that this scheme is a good initiative for women empowerment in the state. The CM has urged all the departments to work with full responsibility and also urged the Panchayat and Rural Development Departments to give full support. Assam government has made several efforts to ensure development.

The Government of Assam state has created a new opportunity for the women of the state by providing them financial help and generating employment among the economically backward people who are not able to continue their life due to the increasing inflation and the underlying poverty. 4 lakh families will benefit from the development of this scheme during the first phase. Different types of activities will be provided to the beneficiaries so that there is the proper generation of income and employment and twenty activities will be implemented during the development of this scheme.
