The YS Jagan Mohan Reddy administration has announced the YSR Housing Scheme 2022 for the residents of the state of Andhra Pradesh.

YSR Housing Scheme 2022 has been announced for the citizens of the Andhra Pradesh state by the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government. Under the first phase of the YSR housing scheme, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has acquired 68.361 acres of land. This land is of the value of Rs 23,535 crores. Around 16 lakh houses were constructed and each house cost Rs 1.8 lakh and Rs 28,800 crore was spent on the scheme. Now the construction of the second phase of the YSR housing scheme has started on 25th December 2020 and in 3 years around 28.30 lakh houses will be built under the second phase of the YSR housing Scheme. 30,75,755 houses will be distributed to women beneficiaries of the state. And the construction of 15,60,000 houses will be initiated on 25 December 2020.

YSR housing scheme has been launched in order to provide houses to poor families of Andhra Pradesh. The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched this scheme. By the implementation of this scheme, the poor citizens of the state can live the dream of owning a house. Under this scheme, houses will provide to all the eligible citizens of the state by 2023. Nearly 15.6 lakh houses will be built under this scheme in the first phase. The government is going to spend Rs 28084 crore on building 15.6 lakh houses. On 3rd June 2021 chief minister of Andhra Pradesh himself laid the foundation of housing colonies in virtual mode from his camp office. On this occasion, the Chief Minister has also spoken to the beneficiaries.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy has also highlighted the fact that for building these housing colonies 30 categories of craftsmen like carpenters, masons, painters, plumbers, etc will get employment. Nearly 21 crore days of labor will be generated under the YSR housing scheme. A new joint collector post will also be created in each district that will monitor the implementation of the YSR housing scheme. It has been estimated that around 15.6 lakh houses will be completed by June 2022 in 175 assembly constituencies. The government is planning to build another 12.70 lakh houses in the second phase by 2023 which will cost around Rs 22860 crores.

Eligibility Criteria Of Smart Town Scheme

  • The applicant must be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh
  • Those individuals who are having annual income from 3 lakh to 18 lakh can apply under the scheme
  • Applicants having annual income from 3 lakh to 6 lakh are eligible for 150 square yard plot
  • Those applicants who are having annual income from 6 lakh to 12 lakh are eligible for 200 square yard plot
  • Applicants having annual income from 12 lakh to 18 lakh are eligible for 240 square yard plot

Features of Smart Town Scheme

  • Under the smart town, scheme plots will be provided to middle-income group citizens and low-income group citizens of Andhra Pradesh who are not having their own house

Other than that the government is going to spend 34000 crores in order to create the infrastructure in these housing colonies which includes roads, electricity, lighting, drinking water, drainage, etc. Till now around 31 lakh housing sites have been distributed to the poor. One in four families in the state will benefit from the housing scheme. The Chief Minister also highlighted the fact that nearly four new districts with New housing colonies will be created through this scheme and around 1.2 crore people from 31 lakh families will get residence.

The government is also going to supply two tube lights, 4 bulbs, an overhead water storage tank, two fans, and 20 tonnes of sand free of cost to every unit of housing. The infrastructural facilities in these colonies will be top-class. In these colonies, Anganwadi centers, libraries, parks, schools, markets, etc will also be built. All those people who want to take benefit of the YSR housing scheme can apply at the nearest village or ward secretariat. After applying the beneficiary will get the benefit of this scheme within 90 days of application.

On 30th December 2020, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy unveiled the layout of the Gunkalam colony. This is the largest house site layout in the state under YSR Housing Scheme an area of 397 acres having 12301 plots. The chief minister has also told the officials that this Gunkalam layout will become the Nagar Panchayat after the work for the construction of houses will be completed. In this layout, all the basic amenities like roads, drinking water, electricity, educational facilities, hospitals, police stations, parks, libraries, RBKs, health clinics, banks, etc will be present. He also said that under the YSR housing scheme not just houses but towns for the future will construct.

The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy reviewed the mega Housing programs at his camp office at Tadepalli. He instructed the officers that the YSR Jagananna colonies much resemble model colonies and should not look like slums. All the basic amenities including underground drainage and library facilities should be available in the colonies. The officials are also instructed to provide materials for construction like cement and steel to 15 lakh beneficiaries at subsidized rates. An action plan should also be prepared by the officials in order to release funds in a timely manner for the construction of houses. In the first phase, around 15 lakh houses will be constructed. For all the beneficiaries who chose to build their own house, the material will be available to them at a subsidized rate and every house will be geotagged.

The officials are instructed to revisit every layout and ensure that the colonies are being constructed in a beautiful manner with the present environment. Underground drainage will be set up in the colonies and the construction of roads will also take place. For every population of 2000 in the new colonies, Anganwadis will be available and a library for 1500 to 5000 households will also be available. The officials are also instructed to give priority to parks. All the best practices must follow in the colonies in order to maintain sanitation and hygiene. In the parks, those trees should plant which boost people’s health. Till the time the colonies are being constructed the marking for planting trees should be done.

As you all know that under the YSR housing scheme houses will provide free of cost to the poor citizens of Andhra Pradesh. The chief minister YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy has told the officials that the house site Patta distribution under this scheme was completed in 9,668 and the distribution of houses has been extended till January 20, 2021. Around 39% of houses have been distributed throughout the state till now. 17000 YSR Jagananna colonies have been completed and the rest of them will be completed as soon as possible. The Chief Minister has also directed the officials to resolve the house site distribution cases as soon as possible.

The previous government has left a debt of Rs 3200 crore. The current government of Andhra Pradesh has cleared a debt of Rs 1200 crore out of this 3200 crore and the government is expecting to clear the remaining debt soon in two phases. Under the TIDCO scheme, 2,62,216 houses are under construction out of which 1,43,600 houses are 300 square feet, 44,300 houses are 365 square feet and 74,300 houses are of 430 square feet. A sale agreement will distribute to 2.60 lakh TIDCO houses. From December 23, 2020, a week-long campaign will be started by the Andhra Pradesh government. Under this campaign, the beneficiaries of TIDCO houses will ask to choose from Chandrababu’s or Jagan’s housing scheme.

The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy is going to inaugurate a model house at Komaragiri village. The houses distributed under the YSR housing scheme will be energy efficient. These houses are being built in support of the BEE and SWISS confederation and under the assistance of APSECM. Under YSR Housing Scheme innovative indo-swiss energy efficient and thermally comfortable technology building designs will be present in houses. This technology is going to reduce the temperature by 2 to 4 degrees. This technology will also ensure 20% electricity savings and will also promote a safe and healthy environment. The houses constructed under the YSR housing scheme will have adequate decent accommodation with basic amenities which is ultimately going to improve the quality of living.

On 16th June 2020 Tuesday Finance Minister B Rajendra Nath Reddy, the Government of Andhra Pradesh formally introduced the budget of the state for the financial year 2020-2021. In this state budget, major highlights were the allocation of the fund for the twenty-one welfare schemes run under the name of Late YS Rajasekhara Reddy and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to provide financial help to the needy people. Despite the COVID crisis and poor financial conditions, the YSR government gave priority to the welfare schemes. This year government has sanctioned Rs 3,691.79 crore for the housing sector.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has started a Jagananna smart town scheme for the middle-class and low-income communities. Under this scheme, home space will be provided to the beneficiary within 5 km of the Municipal Corporation. The houses under this smart town scheme will have all the facilities. Those people who have an annual income between 3 lac to 18 lac can apply for this scheme. Government employees can also apply under this scheme. Through this scheme houses from 150 square yards to 240 square yards will be provided according to the annual income of the beneficiary. The demand survey will be conducted in order to know the demand among the beneficiaries.

This demand survey will conduct on 6 June 2021 and 17 June 2021. Now the middle class and low-income groups people can fulfill their dream of having their own houses. Applicants from all over the state can apply under this scheme.

On 25 December 2020, the Government of Andhra Pradesh will launch YSR Pedalandariki Illu Housing Scheme. Under this scheme, houses will allocate to the beneficiaries. According to the sources these houses will give free of cost to the beneficiaries. Under YSR Pedalandariki Illu Housing Scheme around 30.6 lakh, beneficiaries have been identified across the state. For the litigation-free area, the documents for free housing sites will distribute to the beneficiaries. The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy has instructed the district collectors to complete the preparatory work and distribute the housing sites. On certain sites, there are stay orders issued by the High court. The chief minister has also instructed officials to take steps to vacate the stay order.
