Considering the condition of farmers in Rajasthan, Raje government is coming up with a scheme for their benefit. On Saturday, Chief Minister Raje announced the free electricity scheme for farmers in the presence of Prime Minister Modi. Under this scheme, general category rural farmers will get benefits. The scheme will officially launch next month in November.
Key features of the scheme :-
Aim – The government has taken this initiative to reduce the increasing pressure of electricity bills on farmers. Many farmers in Rajasthan are not able to use irrigation machines due to lack of electricity, with the introduction of this scheme their problem will be solved.
Benefit of the scheme – Under this scheme, Rs 833 will be transferred to the bank accounts of some selected farmers. The benefit of this Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) will be available only to those farmers who have paid the electricity bill for that month. The government will provide benefits of up to Rs 10,000 in a year to selected farmers.
Beneficiary – Rajasthan Government has set a target of 12 lakh general category rural farmers for this scheme. The government will make every possible effort to provide benefits to these farmers.
Benefit – Reduction in electricity bill will reduce a major worry of the farmers, so that they will be able to use the remaining money for good fertilizers and machines in farming. With this, the country's dream of doubling the income of farmers by 2022 will be realized as soon as possible.
Eligibility Criteria –
Native – To avail the benefits of the scheme, it is mandatory for the beneficiary to be a resident of Rajasthan, for this he will have to show his identity card and a copy of it will also have to be attached to avail the benefits of the scheme.
For farmers – The scheme is only for farmers, but only those farmers who are from rural areas will get the benefit of this scheme. Farmers living in urban areas cannot take advantage of this scheme.
Poverty Line – It is mandatory for the name of the beneficiary to be in the SECC list, which means farmers falling below the poverty line will get the benefit of this scheme.
Electricity Connection – Any farmer who has a common electricity connection is eligible for this scheme, he can apply for it.
Application form (Application form and process) :-
The free electricity scheme has just been announced, so there is not much information about its application process. First the officials will make a list of beneficiary farmers, then maybe the government will organize camps for this in villages and panchayats, and the registration of farmers will be done through offline process. As soon as we get official information about this scheme, we will inform you.
How it works :-
For this, all the farmers will have to deposit the bill for the month of November in the electricity department on time, after which the officials will transfer the money directly to the beneficiary's account.

Some time ago, Rajasthan Chief Minister had announced Bhamashah Digital Family Scheme, in which free mobile phones were given to everyone. This type of free electricity scheme has also come in other BJP ruled states. Saral Electricity Bill Scheme in Madhya Pradesh and Sahaj Electricity Bill Scheme in Chhattisgarh are being run for the poor class.
