Features of Self-Employment Scheme:-

• Women Empowerment:- Through this scheme, this scheme was started to ensure that the women of the state who belong to backward classes or remote hilly areas get their own employment and to connect them with banking activities. So that they can be empowered.
• Assistance to disabled people:- Under this scheme, such women and other people who have become disabled due to any accident will also be provided assistance under this scheme.
• Facilities and assistance provided: - In this scheme, the beneficiaries will be given the necessary skill training to start their own employment, and along with that, Rs 2,500 will be provided as assistance, so that they can get financial support to start their own employment. Can help.
• Organization of Gram Sabha:- Gram Sabha will be organized twice a year in all the districts in the state by the self-help groups working under this scheme. Where the beneficiaries of this scheme, women and disabled people, will be provided all kinds of information related to the scheme like what is self-employment, why is it beneficial, what benefits will they get from it and along with this, information about banking facilities will also be provided.
• Employment Opportunities:- By getting the skill training given in this scheme, many types of employment opportunities will be provided to the beneficiaries. For example, women can earn their livelihood by opening embroidery-weaving, tea, paan, chaat, flower, fruit or vegetable shops, sewing centres, beauty parlors etc.

Eligibility Criteria in Women Self-Employment Scheme:-

• Local resident:- To join this scheme, it is necessary that the applicant should be a resident of Himachal Pradesh, the benefit of this scheme is not to be provided to the people of other states.
• Age Limit:- When the applicant goes to apply for this scheme, his age must be 18 years or above.
• Income Limit:- Only women and disabled people from families whose maximum annual income is Rs 35,000 can apply under this scheme.  

Documents required in self-employment scheme:-

The beneficiaries of this scheme will require some documents while applying, which are as follows-

• Account in bank or post office:- First of all it is necessary that they have their own account in bank or post office. Because the amount given as assistance will be deposited in the same account of the beneficiary.
• Identity Certificate:- Apart from this, Aadhar Card, Voting Card, Ration Card etc. will also be required to identify the beneficiaries. They will have to keep a photocopy of it.
• Income Certificate:- Since the income of the applicant has been determined in this scheme, they will have to provide a copy of the income certificate to prove the annual income of their family.
• Caste Certificate:- The benefit of this scheme is to be given to poor backward class women and disabled people. So applicants are also required to provide proof of their caste.
• Residential Certificate:- To ensure that only residents of Himachal Pradesh are included in this scheme, applicants will also have to show their residential certificate.
• Other Documents: Apart from all these documents, applicants will have to attach a copy of their bank passbook to give their bank information along with the form and they will also have to attach a passport size color photograph in the form.
